Only down to go...

So here's another Snow Goat's track that got a redo. This one was on the Haunting Malibu EP. The original was done in 1996 and appeared on the Enter the Goat cassette.

Hopefully, I can dig that version up soon... in the meantime, here's the 2001 version (lyrics are after the break):

We're the Border Patrol!

Here is the redo of Border Patrol which was originally on the Hello Goat album.

This version was on the Haunting Malibu EP.

It features François Castonguay on bass, and Chris Meseyton on keys.

The Future is Coming: Part 2

Large Hadron Collider

After a long break around 1999, Steve and I were back on the recording tip. These recordings finally became the Haunting Malibu EP.

For this disk, we decided to re-record a few oldies which had previously been done off the cuff - improvised; as most Goats' songs were done. This was the first time we actually had songs written to record. And by this time, we had moved on from tape and were recording to a computer.

One of the songs we chose to redo was The Future is Coming which we had previously recorded, as part of the unreleased Hello Goat.

So here is the remake of that song from Haunting Malibu:

The Future is Coming (Haunting Malibu EP version).

The Dressmakers

The Dressmakers

They had you pinned from side to side;
they never laughed.
Who were they?

They were The Dressmakers.

Meat Draw

I just realized we've got two songs with the word 'meat' in the title. Meat Enzo and this one.

The way this song came about was, again, fortuitous. Steve and I were going to do some recording one day, and so he came to my place. Our plan was to go out for some booze and food and return to record. We stepped out of my bungalow, and, shoot!, the second I closed the door, I realized I had just locked us out.

We decided to run our errands anyway and stop at a pub to wait for my housemate to arrive back with her key. We ended up at the El Dorado Motor Hotel drinking at the pub.

It's an odd place. A stale smoke and beer-smelling, basement-like drinking hole that serves terrible beer and is inhabited mainly by regulars.

It has one of those mechanical arm machines that you can win prizes, like cheap stuffed animals, with and a board that lists daily events, like Friday's wing night and the one that was vaguely the inspiration for this song, Tuesday's

Meat Draw.

Over the years, the rock duo Snow Goat's has recorded scads of hits.

With boxes and boxes of cassettes, reels, and a hard drive all bursting with tracks, we decided it was high time to set them free on the internets.

Keep your eyes on this site for regular updates, with tales, memorabilia, and most of all hits!

Enjoy!
